An antique Victorian mourning brooch made of vulcanite, also known as ebonite, and hand carved in a flower design.
Vulcanite is the process of treating rubber with sulphur as was patented in 1844 in England by Thomas Hancock.
The brooch measures 5cm in length.
In good antique condition and with minimal signs of age .
